- At the Opera House, next Sunday after. uoon, a rousing meeting is expected to be held. Joshua W. Smith and Geo. M. Chester, of Dutroit, are to adiress the club. Mr. Smith nddressed the club last spring in compa'i y ivith Mr. C. R. Mabley, and is au eiitoitaining speaker. All who heard him then will be auxious to hear hira again. Mr. Chester is publisher oí the Red and White Ribbon, a prominent worker in the cause, and has many friende in this city who remember him when he attended the Uuiversity many years ago, at the time when h was " one of the b'hoys.'1 " Sure will the harvest be." - An onthusiastic meeting was held at the school house on Lodi plains, last Sunday evening, at vvliich a club was organized witli 30 membera. Speeches were made by Judge Cheever, H. K Ash, and President Schumacher, of the Aun Albor Club, and others. Music was furnished by members of the choir bclongiug to the club of this city. Among tho members secured were several of whom there could be no doubt in regard to their eligibility to meinbership in anv club. - A Red Ribbon mass meeting and picnic is to be held at Whitmore Lako on Saturday afternoon of next week, to which tho clubs of Ann Arbor, Dexter, Brighton, Delhi, South Lyous, Hamburg, Northfield and other places have been invited. Speeches will be made by R. E. Frazer and others. A pleasant day will insure a large gathering and a glorious time. - Notwithataudiug the warm weather of Sunday afternoon lust, a large audience assembled at the Opera House to hear Prof. S. Dickie, of Albion, address the Reform club. He was a fine speaker and, discarding a few aeemingly harsh expressions toward saloonkeepers, gave one of the best addresses that has been dalivered before the club. - The club will have a social hop at their rooms in the Opera House on Tuesday evening next, to which all red ribbonites are cordially invited. In connection with which members of the Ladies' Temperance Union will hold a social and festival, to which all are ininvited. - R. E. Frazer, Esq., of this city, and Joshua W. Smith, of Detroit, will address the Lodi club at the school house on the Plains, next Sunday eveniug. "Let the lower lights te burning." - Prof. S. Diekie, of Albion, has been engaged to address the Dexter club on Sunday evening, Oct. 14.
