Interest in the Darien canal project has been revivod by the report of Lieut. Wyse to the Paris Geographical Society. Lieut. Wyse was the leader of the Frencli expedition last jew to explore the Darien route through Oolumbian territory, and he reports a practicable line for a ship canal from the Chttcunaque river, on the PaciƱo side, northwest to Port Grandi, on the Atlantic side. The route from the river to Acanto oi' Grandi is comparatively level, and lic believes that an inter-oceanic canal, by way of Oolumbia, will soon be an accomplished fact.
