In behalf of the Ladies' Charitabla Uuion, contributions of bread, meat, pies, etc., are requested to be sent to the new readiug room in the Opera House blook, December 24th, trom 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. The regular ward coininittees of the Ladies' Cbaritable Union will aee that all such douatïons are wisely diatributed. MBS. C. ü. CLAKK, Vres't L. C. U. K C. Curtía, of Grand Haven, a temporary mail agent on the Detroit and Milwaukeo Eailroad, was arrested Deo. 14, on charge of robbing the mails. He confessed his guilt, waived examination, and was held for trial at the March term of the United States Court, Detroit.
