There are iu this office at the present time abouc 20,000 patenta. Every one of these patents should De recorded in the counties where the land is located. The eouuties embraced in this land district of those uncalled for patents are Wayne, Monroe, Lenawee, Hülsdale, Jacksou, Washtenaw, Macomb, Oakland, Livingston, east part of Iuhiim, and south tier of towns of G-enesee aud Shiawassee, St. Clair, Sanüac, Huron and part of Lapeer. The title of every city !ot and of every farm ia worthless unless ït can be traced back to a Uoited States patent. Parties owning the land eau obtiun the patent from this office to put on record by making affidavit of ovrnersbip. Any person who cannot ftud a patent on record in the Register's offise of the couuty where his land is located can nscertain whether the patent is in this office by writmg me. J. li. Bloss, Register. By request of Register Bloss, of the Land Office at Detroit, we give place to the above. It is important that every land owrier - whether of viilage or city lot or farm - be ab'e to trace his title to the original patent.
