Duriug the session of Congress which has just olosed there were introduoed 6,629 bilis and 243 joint resolutitms. About 5,300 bilis were introducsd in the House alone, which ís an average of nearly twenty to each member. Of these bilis about 200 nave been disposed of. In addition to the regular a-ppropriation bilis, the most important ones ■were : The act remonetizing silver, the act allowmg crimináis in the United States courts to tesüfy in their own behalf, the act providiDg a new form of govemment for the District of Columbia, the Pacific Kailroad Funding biil, the act forbidding the further retirement of legai-tender notes. These are really all the important public actt that Congress passed last session. Some of the most important bilis considered at this Congress aie now lving on the Speaker's tablo, over 225 bilis haviDg passed the Senate whieh have not yet reached the House. The Senaie bas been very industrious, and has cleared up its calendar. The only important billa remaiung on the Senate calendar undisposed of are as follows : The bilí to créate the Territory of Lincoln out of the Black Hulp, the bill to amend and revise the patent laws, the Texas Paciüc Railroad bill, the Japanese Indemnity Fund bill, the bill regnlating compensation for mail transportation and the classification of mail matter, and the bill to regúlate the counting of electoral votes. There are more than 500 bilis on the House calendar which were lef t uudisposed of. The most important of these are : The bill to restore to pension rolls those whose names were stricken off for disloyalty, bill to regúlate the compensation of postmaeters and prevent the illegal traffic in postage stamps, bill to transfer Indian Bureau to War Department, several postal savings bilis, the bill to retire the circulation of national banks, to authorize national banks to exchauge their reserve for bonds, Texas Pacific bill, Pro Pvata bill, Pacific Kailroad Funding bill, bill for the iinprovement of the Mississippi river and the Geneva Award bill. The only important bilis which have passed the House, but were not acted npon by the Senate, reached that body on the day of adjournment. Thóse are the bill to incrcaiic the pay of letter carriers, the bili establishing routes and the " Arrears of Pensions" bill. Three or four contested-election cases were left undisposed of bv the House. -
