Piobably at no time in the history o' Europe have the rnlers of the vanous states of the Old World been such aged and infirm men as at present. Onlv King Alfonso of Spain, and King Humbert of Italy are young men, and yet the former is not likely to retain his crown very long. Quoen Victoria, Miirshal MacMahon, the Emperor William, Emperor Alexander, Pope Leo XIII., tho King of Denmark, the King of Sweden, are all old men, and, to all intente and purpoHes, so is the Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria, who is a soured, orabbed, hypochondriacal personage, which is no wonder considering that he ias now ruled for thiity years over so wretched a country. As for Abdul 3amid, tho Turkish Sultan, we do not consider him auy longer a Eurocean sovereigD. His reign, we apprehend, will be of very short duration, and who mows but we shall hear in a few dajs of auotlier palaco revolation in Constantinople? We trust that tho Eineror William will recover from the wounds so baaely inflicted upon him by he assastiin Nobeling. As for the Em)eror of Bussia, his days eeem to be tinmbered. Marshal MacMahon is repesented to be in poor health, aud it is [Hite evident that Leo XIII. is in no jetter cc ndition. The younger generaion will soon be more largely repreented among the sovereigns of Europe.
