- Uur Dioceses, the organ oí the l'rotestnnt Episcopal Church in this State, advocates the immediate cali of a conveutiou for tho purpose of electing a successor to the deposed bishop of the discese of Michigan. Sixty day's notice must be given, and after election considerable time must necessarily elapse beiore the eiection can be approved by a sufiicieut number of dioceses. - The imposing ceremony of administering the flrst communion will take place at St. Thomas' Church (Catholio), next Suuday mormng, at 10 o'clock. The procession will form at St. Thomas' school at 9.45 o'clock. The class numbers about 50 cbildreu, who have been receiving daily preparatory instruction during the week from Father Van Erp, at the church. - Rev. J. T. Suuderland, of Chicago, one of the most popular Umtarian ministers in the Northwest, has accepted the pastorate ot the Unitaria Church of this city, and will begin his labors here the ürst Suuday in üctober. - At the receut session ot the Michigan Conference (M. E. Church) Rev. W. H. Brockway and James VV. Sheldou, Esq ., both of Albion, were elected trustees ot the Albion Cc:lege. - Rev. Charles T. Allen, of the Tabernacle M. E. Church, Detroit, will preach in the Baptist Church on Sunday morning, and Rev. T. G. Potter of Fenton, in the evening. - Rev. C. Golder, formerly pastor oL the Germán Methodist Church ot this city, but recently returned from Europe, has been assigned to a church in Cleveland, Ohio. - ïhere was a Love-F ast service at the M. E. Chmch ou Suuday morning last at 9 o'clock, and Presiding Eider Shier preached in the evening. - Eev. F. T. Brown, of the Presbyterian Church, has returued froui his vacation trip and resumed his pastoral and pulpit work. - At St. Thomas' Church (Catholic) a collection in aid of the yellow fover sufferers will be taken up on Sunday next. - On Sunday forenoou last a colleetion in aid of the yellow lever sufferers was taken up in the Congregatioual Church. - On Sunday morning last a $ló colleetion was taken up at the Presbyterian Church for the yellow fever sufferers. - Evening services have been resumed at the M. E. Church.
