Now in ita second week. - Prof. Ten Bro k has reiiirned fron a sojourn of some months in Brooklyn. - David A. Wise, of Ypsilanti, has ah ipped a car load of apples to Pueblo, Colorado. - Joe T. Jacobs is putting a new tin roof on his block of stores, corner Main and Washington Streeta. - Ambrose Keamey ia building a two -story nddition to his house on the wett side of North State atreet. -Dr. D. M Ty'er, of the Fifth ward, has been very sick tor soine weeks but is now recovering. - John Carey, of this city, haa gone to Baltimore : to accept the position of librarían of St. Charles College. - Iu Saline towuship candidates for teachers' certiflcates will present themsalves for exaiijination November 2. - Tlie County officers, City officers, and tho Comuion Couucil went to Toledo ou Wedues_ day. wit h the Supervisors. - Henry Keedle, living just weat of this city,had a large numberof peach trees destroyed by vandaU during Friday night last. - Dr. Reynolds, the original red ribbon club organizer, aud the " Buckeye Broadaxe " are hoth aunounced to speak at the Opera House next Sunday afternoon. - That new cross-walk at the corner of Main and Ann streets is a decided improvement. The one acrosa Main street at the same corners could be bettered. - Amusements: The followiug attractions are billed for Hill'a Opera House. George Graves' combination, Oct. 29 and 30. Siie is also building an addition to her house on the corner of State and NTorth. - The Saline Standard says : " Messrs. B. jnd P. Rouse, who reside about two miles aortheast of' Saline, report having been shot it by some unknown person on the evemng of he 9th iust., as thej' wcre coming to this place." - A. II Herrón, forinerly a resident and Marshal of thia city, was burned out at Paw Paw on Monday night, loaing nearly every;hiug, furniture, clothing, books, Aa, The ïouse in which he lived was owued by a Mrs. ray and was iusured.
