I ï-47 .55 17.50 .18 This is a good table to keep for reference. It will be seen that prices of leading farm products have not been controlled so much by war at home or abroad as by the supply. For instance, the price of wheat during the first two years of our Bebellion was less than in January, 1877. And again, duriug the prevalence of the Germán war prices were lower than last ycar. The maximum price, $3 per bushei, was reached nearly two years after the close of our RebeÚion. A foreign demand may make an active market, but unless tliere is a short erop at home it seldoni carries the price up very high.
