McMILLAN. DETROIT Throat 1 Lung Institute MEEEILL BLOCK, corner of Woodward and Jeff'erson aves., Detroit, ilieh. M. Hilton Williams, M. D., Prop'r. Who personally receives juiTients at the Institute for the cure of all the varioua diseases of theHead, Tliroat and Chest, and their coinplications, through the systein of inhalation, combined with proper internal treatuient. Tothose who have what they are pleased to cali "linering colds" we would say unhe.sitatingly, and if posaible with a voice that would awaken all from that pleasant dclusion, that without prompt and earnest effbrts in a rational and proper nianner, many will soon foliow those who have found release f rom their suifering in that "sleep which knows uo waking." You have been conscious, but almost afraid to confess the fact, and unwilling to admit it to yourselves that the slight irritation of the throat, the annoyance of naal catarrh, the symptonm of a bronchial inflammation of a few weeks or months af?o, which you contidently believed would " wear oti'," has beome iirmly established, and is most certainly, and by degreea. more or less rapidly, and with fatal precisión and unyielding grap, advano ing to hopeless consumption. You may object to and shrink from the frank statement by your medical adviser ; you may deny the truthfwt conviction which forces itself upon your obaervation and rea-son, but the plain fact, divested of fiattering :i-! surances that can only cheat you of even life iteelf, ia that these ihroat diseaseh, the broncïiial inllammations and other constitutional causes, are teüing agalnst you with unerrinjí c(;riainty, and the a&surances - ao pleasant to the ear- that all wiil be well bye and bye, are the more delusivo and cruel. You do not want 1o stupefy the seoses by opiates, nor take into the stoinach drugs that will forever deatroyitstone and im pair its office. You do not want mcrely palliative treatment to conduct and lull you into taneied security to the very brink of the grave, font is neither reasonable nor just to yourselves, or those who regard your cases with, trembhng solicitude and painful anxiety. The chilly blasts and stornis of advanced aunmn, the inclement winter with its searehing winds and atmosphere charged with moisture, have had their eflect upon you - the great and rapid vicisitudes of spring, that, witli the re-awakening of vegetable life, is peculiarly fatal to consumptives - these changes of seasons are now upon the invalid as well as upon the robust, and it is wise to just now stop and reflect upon the nature and progresa of your diseaee, and the remedial measures you have employed, and seriously to inqufre if there is a way,.open to you by which you may escape the danger which isiinpending. We say, without hesitation, that thegreatcr number of pulmonary diseases eau be cured. We need not dilate upou tlieoriea while we are ableto present living evidenees of the emcacy of judicious medicatiou in a elass of cases so long and peraistently pronounced hopeless. Inhalations are applicable in all diseases of the respiratory organs, including catarrh, throat diseases, aathma, bronchitis, consumption ; and thousands of cases can beeured by tliia mode of treatment when nothing else can reach them. Those who desire to consult me in regard to their cases had better cali at the office fur an examination, but if impossible to visit the office personally, may write for " List of Questions," and circular, both of which will be sent free of charge.
