Yl'Sir.AKTl, July 30. - A train handnamed Kobert Stewart had his thumb and four fingor smashed at tho dopot one day last week. - Several loads of poople went frotu here to attend the temperance entertainment at Ann Arbor, on Friday night, and returned, well pleased. -Tho contract for our new Opera house was let to Smith oí Detroit, who drew the plan for Wbitney's Opera house and is one of tho best architects in tbe state. Thoy began building last week. - Itev. J. S. Boyden preached his farewell serraon to tho church Sunday morning, addrossod the Reform boys r. M., and conducted the Union services at the M. E. church in tho evening. He will be sadly missed. - Seth Goodell, an enterprisingyoung man, who has olerked for C. M. Comstock over two yeais, has been appointed by L. S. Munson, an extensive manufacturar of collars and enffs in Albany, as traveling salesman in Michigan. He went to Albany Saturday, to receive orders. - Somebody must have a special spite against Fred Johnson, the drnggist at the depot, for tho other day his little spaniol, the pet of every one came creepiug home, with his body hacktd and bruised and his two hind legs cut off. - They killed him to put him out of hig misery.
