Milán, Aug. 25. - A temperance revival ia now tfclked of being held horo soon. - B. W. Marble is preparing to build a largo additiou to his wagon shop. - Tho Briok and Tile Co. have corapleted the burning of their first kiln of brick and tile, pronounced to be of an excellent quality. The coinpany have fiorjnienced anothor kiln. - The Little Brown Jug is the title of a drama now in contemplation to bo rendored here in tho near futuro by the Miun troupe in the interest of the Keforni club. - Chailey Brown, working A. Case's farm this seasou, was quite badly liurt at tho depot on the lóth. Ho was ongagtd in hauling logs and loading tlieia on tho cara when, by a mishap, iu unloading a log from a pair of trucks n hook caught iu his flosh, toariug a very bad wound. - The hostler at Ayres' Hotel, A. Smith, was run away with on the lGth. Mr. S. was driving a horso before a buggy, tho rig belonging to Joseph Grauntlült, vvheu the horso lit out, throwing Mr. Smith from tho buggy and smashing the vehicle into a very useless condition, also bruising Mr. Stnith considerably, he retaiuing possession of the linea through the whole porformanco. - Wm. Wualey is putting uiachinory in his mili for inanuf'acturing oil parral j beadings for shipping. Xho busiafcta itf to be oarried on by Mr. Meado, who deals largely in staves and lumber at tkis place. M. Meade expects to manufacturo a largo amount of headings during the coming winter. The headings will be sawod from bolts of timber got out in the woods and hauled bero and for which, probably, a demand will be created by tho business which will materially add to the interests of our villago. - Thn annual 6chool meeting of this district, Sept. lst, will bo a very important ono, and ought to interest tho inhabitants of this district enough to cali out a large represen tation of tax-payers in its jurisdiction. The Maynard library is to be put into a visible existence, and rules adopted for lts management and future prosperity. The long indebtedness of the district is to be considered in view of its early payment, and other important business which taxpayers ought to attend to personally is very likely to come boforo the meeting for action. - It has been a long time since Milan has been so very destitute of social gatherings as at present. Even the Eeform club, which has been a fixture fornearlj' three years as a place for an exchange of thoso civilities and greetings so common and necessary to social life, have failed to meet for several weeks; though this break in the meetings is temporary, it is sensibly feit by the cominunity and it is hoped the meetings will be resumed at an early day. Church services are held but once in two weeks, and aro, we regret to say, but slimly attended. - Tho poonlinn'ty of the religious sentiment here seerns to require a niinistor whoso interpretation of religión should be as broad and liberal as the justice and goodness of the Creator himself. Mooreville, Aug. 25. - The Eev. Mr. Boyden preached in the Baptist church Sunday of this week. - There was a quite a crowd in Mooreville last week Mondayto sec sorue ropewalking. - All the Mooreville people are having their pictures taken ; E. H. Barrow's picture car being in town. - Eider Fisher who has been east ou a vacation for soma weeks past has returned and resumed his pastpral labors. - Eld. Mooheville, Aug. 26. - Mrs. Coggins is very low with consumption. - A large crowd assemblod to see the rope-walking the lSth. - The walls of S. IJ. Hitchcock's new brick house are being lain. - Wedding ceremony will be celsbrated the 27th betweon this item will be completed next week. % - Mr. Barrows has been in town the past few days taking pictures, and has TBCeived a liberal amount of patronage. - Mr. Lowe has leased tho dry goeds store of B. Alchin and will take possession soon. James Gauntlett will superintend the boot and shoe department.
