SlIARON, Aug. 18. The 8eventh annual picnic of the farmers of Sharon waa held in the grove of D. G. Rose on the 14th instant. The attondanco was good though not quite so largo as some previous years, owing somewlmt to the regatta at Hülsdale and an excursión f rom Graas Lake. The speech by Kev. Augustus Gillett was pronounced excellent. Short speeches by Eev's. Slclllwain aud Gay and Capt. E. P. Allen followed, from which it was inferred that Capt. Allen is not an early riser. Eery thing passed of quietly and pleasantly to all, with the exceptiou of two young ladies from Manchester Misses Matie Vreeland and Beckie Lobdell who had the misfortune to have tlieir buggy hit the gate when driving through theroby throwing themoutand breaking the buggy; the young ladies were not hurt. The officers for the ensuing yeai were elected asfollows : Presidont.- Col. J. II. Fellows. Vice President.- W. M. Bowers. Secretary.- C. M. Pellows. Treasurer.- D. G. Rose. Executivo Committeo. - J. J. Eobison, 8. C Jbhaaaii, VV. Campbell aud C, Eowe: t Ujío. The rush still continúes and crowds come from all directions to secure the great bargains that are offered at Mack t Schraids and which have created an excitement unparaleled in the anuals of the dry goods trade in this city.
