- Board of Supervisors uieet on Moiidny, Oct. 13. - David Henninghas opened an apple markot at Dexter. - A post-offlce has been established in Pittsfiald, with Jas. D. Allison, P. M. - W. E. Liegent'uss, a gradúate of the medical department has located at Dexter. - A big snake was found hiding on the grounds of the state normal school a few days ago. - Mr. G. Fanning lectures for the Dexter Reform Club oa Sunday and Monday evenings. - Mr. J. C. B. Forayth will represent the Good Templara of Ypsilantiat Grand Lodge meeting at Saginaw, Oct. 21. -Mr. and Mr?. N. H. Wells of Manchester, celébrate the 2ülh anniversary of their matrimonial journey to-morrow. - Sarah J. S. McKtmney of Ypsilanti brings an action against her husband, residing somowhero in the province of Ontario, for divorce. - The Commercial notices the display of seving machines at Ypsiliuiti fair bv J. F. Schub, who by his push " quite put our ovvn dealers to shame." - Tho annual meeting of the Woman'8 Foreign Mission Society of Adrián District, will be held at Saline, on Wednesiay and Thuisday, Oct. 15th and 1 üth. - Public examinatiou of the teachers dí' the Townships of Aun Arbor on the llth day of October at the fifth ward school house, oommencing at lü o'clook A. ir. Applicants will please bring their writxng materials. - T. ÜT. Ruston of Manchester town has removed to near Hudson. Patriok McMahon of Sharon has gone to Sioux city, Dakota, to be absent two weeks. Dr. Stowell of Manchoster conteinplates a visit to Kansas. - For the benefit of those unable to attend a day school, an eveuing school was begun in Ypsilanti, on Wednesday under charge of H. F. Cochrane, a gradúate of Union College. - Tho annual meeting for the election of officers of the Washtenaw Poinological Society will be held on the second Tuesday of October (the 14th instant) instead of the 2d of October as was inisstated in the last issue of this paper. All are invited to attend whether inembers or not. - Mr. George Lazell of Bridgewater was in town on Saturday. He is pnbably the oldest resident in the county living in this sectiou, having come to Ann Arbor in 1825 aud to Bridgewater in 1829. Mr. Dorr Kellogg, of Ann Arbor, came to this State with him. Mr. Lazell is 81 years of age, but you wouldn't think it by hislooks and aiovements. - Manchester Enterprise. - Il' the newspapers are correct the fair at Ypsilanti last week was a success. The officers for 1879 80 are asfollows: President - H. D.Platt. Vice-Presidents - A. J. Murray and John H. Uhl. Seoretary- Frank Joslin. Treasurer- William Campbell. Executive Committee - Samsou Parker, Lima, F. A. Graves, Ypsilanh town, C. B. Root, Plymouth, N. C. Carpenter, Pittsfield, J. D. Olcott, Augusta, Milo Clark, York, E. C. Cole, Superior, William Lee Yost, to flll term made vacant by AVm. E. Warner, deceabed.
