Age 79, passed away at his home July 30, 1973. He was born January 18, 1894 in Ann Arbor, the son of Gustave and Nellie Wosser Ritz. On September 3, 1919 he married Catherine M. Walsh. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1971. Mr. Ritz was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He served with the United States Marine Corps during World War I and was a member of the Veterans of W.W.I.-U.S.A. Mr. Ritz had been employed at American Broach for 38 years before retiring in 1960. Survivors include: two sons, Edward L. of Dearborn and James P. of Ann Arbor; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas B. (Mary Margaret) Dyer of Ann Arbor; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; three brothers, Edward of Chicago, Herbert of Detroit and Carl of Dexter; one sister, Mrs. Helen Schmidtke of Westland; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
