Brown, Chester A. "Chet"

Age 81, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004. Chet was born March 16, 1923 in Redford, MI, the only child of the late Andrew H. and Agnes (Burzan) Brown. He was married to Lois Wilkinson on October 24,1942 and in October the following year Chet entered the U.S. Army Air Corp where he served his country during World War II. After returning from the service he joined the Ann Arbor Fire Department where he retired in 1976 after 28 1/2 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lois Brown; their daughter Janet L. (David) Gray; a grandson, Christopher (Rivanette) McClure; four step-grandchildren, Teresa Gray, Deborah Graziano, Kenneth Gray and Leanne Dempich; four great grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Chet was preceded in death by his son, Charles P. Brown who died serving his country in Vietnam. The family will receive friends at the Nie Life Story Funeral Home, 2400 Carpenter Rd. on Thursday, June 10, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004, 10:00 am at the West Side United Methodist Church, 900 S. 7th, Ann Arbor, Rev. Tracy Nichols Huffman officiating.
