New Features, and a new Bookable Room!

The end of February is nigh, and we've been hard at work building more new features for the new aadl.org!
Downtown Freespace now Bookable Online
In addition to the Whiffletree and Lamplighter rooms on the 2nd floor of the Downtown Library, we've now made the AADL Freespace on the 3rd floor of the Downtown Library bookable online! You can book this room that seats about 32 at aadl.org/rooms after logging in with your library card. You can book it for 2 hours per day per card, up to 12 times per 365-day period. And, while this room used to require 2 weeks advance notice, now you can book it for tomorrow onward! However, unlike our smaller meeting rooms, no same-day walk-in usage of AADL Freespace is available. Advance booking only!

Request Magazine Issues Online
Those of you who like to place requests on magazine issues have needed staff help for the past few weeks; now the ability to request a specific issue of a magazine online is back! You'll find a request button next to each issue in the catalog. There's one catch for now; once placed, you can't cancel or modify these requests. We will get that working soon, but for now, just contact us if you need help canceling or changing a magazine issue request.
Community Collections Search
Community Collections are digital items of local interest, like the Old News collection of newspapers, photos, and article, and much more. We've now added back the ability to search these collections. Just choose Community Collections from the Search Dropdown to get started! There are a lot of features and data yet to come, as well as the resumption of posting new Old News Photos, but this is a big step forward. Here's an example to get you started!

There are a lot more old features coming back and new features on the way, including additional barcodes coming up next, then calendar feeds of due dates and library events, events search, wishlist / checkout history search, the return of ratings and reviews, custom notification and much more.
