Emerging Writer's Workshop: Setting and Description
When
Monday March 4, 2019: 7:00pm to 8:45pm
Where
Westgate Branch: West Side Room
Description
Novels and memoirs can’t be separated from their setting, and description will make readers feel fully involved in the story. But what’s the best way to use setting and description in a story? In this workshop, Bethany Neal and Alex Kourvo will show you how to use appropriate setting and vivid description to heighten character, action, and theme.
This is part of the monthly Emerging Writers Workshops, which offer support, learning, and advice for local authors. Each month, two weeks after the workshop, there is a meet-up where the instructors will read samples of your work and offer advice and assistance in a casual, supportive atmosphere.
Do you have a completed manuscript? Consider submitting it to the library's imprint Fifth Avenue Press.
