Mrs. Sidney Cook
Mrs. Carolyn M. Cook, 71, widown of Sidney P. Cook, former city councilman and staff member of The Ann Arbor News, died last night at the Arnold Home in Detroit.
Mrs. Cook formerly lived at 2014 Washtenaw in Ann Arbor.
She was born July 12, 1894, in Ionia, the daughter of Frank and Frances Comstock Myers. She was married to Mr. Cook April 2, 1917, in Owosso. Mr. Cook died Aug. 18, 1963.
Mrs. Cook was a past state regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Gold Star Mothers and the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. | Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. David (Ann) Davis of Poland, Ohio; two sons, Sidney P. Sook Jr. of Birmingham and John M. Cook of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; twd Sloters, Miss Grace Ethel Myers and Mrs. Joel H. Murphey, both of Owosso; and eight grandchildren. son, Lt. William K. Cook, a bomber pilot with the U.S. Army Air Force, was killed in Italy in 1944.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ernest T. Campbell officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call tomorrow until 5 p.m. at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel.
The family has asked that any memorial contributions be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
