Mr. K. S. Wires, business manager of the Madison Square theatre cotnpany, is in the city making arrangements for the appearance at the opera house, Wednesday. 17th, of Hazel Kirke. No extended notice is needed to set forth the excellent qualities of the beautiful play of Hazel Kirke in the hands of the Madison square theatre company. It is, in itself, one of tjuo puresi, urigiiteBL uuu ixiesi enienaining plays in existence, and its attraotion are enhanoed by the thoroughly adequate manner in which the above company present it. Our people will have an opportunity to judge for themíelves if this is not true next Wdnesday evening at the theatre. It may be mentioned that the increase in this year's business is due to the fact that a large number of people, who do not usually attend theatres, are attracted by the excellent reputation which Hazel Kirke enjoys. The company is substantially the same as last season, with the exception that the original "Hazel," Miss Belle Archer will be seen in place of Miss Oayvan. She is a young and beautiful aotress, and gives a etrong impersonation of the role. In fact she was the lady for whom Steel Mackeye created the part. Charles Wheatley.who play "Dunstan Kirke," is stillwith the troupe. The company come under the management of Mr. Sa wy er and it will no doubt be the dramatic event of the season. A handsomely decorated souvenir programme will be presented to each lady attending. It has a portrait of Hazel Kirke and an interior view of the famous Madison square theatre, New York.
