Cooking By Electricity
-A treal firra has invented and patented a machine for cooking by electrieity. It consists oí a saucepan so isolated by non-conductors that the bottom forms the positive polo of the current. The negative pole is attaohed to a movable point which travels in circles over the bottom of the pan underneath, distributing the heat over the whole surface, and with suflicient rapidity to avoid burning a wholo through the pan at any one point. A woman who would always love would never grow old; and tha love of motlier and wife would often give or preserve rnany charms if it werc not too frequently combined with parental and conjugal anger. This is worth remembering; for there remains in the faces o women who are naturally serene am peaceful, and of those rendered so by religión, an after-spring, and later an after-summer, the i-etlex of their most beautiful bloom. According to carefully prepared oilicial statistics, tho decline of the native race in Fiji bas been arrested, and a slight increase in the population has taken place during the last two years This result has been achieved mainlj by the nieasures which the Governmen have taken to sofíen the contact of th natives with eivilization and to promot among them some knowledge of th laws of health
