The committee of Welch Post, G. A. E. consisting of J. B. Saunders, Prof. C. E. Greene, W. W. Nichols.Robert Campbell, and P. Irwin, who were appointed last Friday evening for tke purpose of rnaking arrangements and presenting a program for the proceedings of the above mentioned day, had a meeting Monday evening last, and the following plan was adopted and will be presented to the Post, at their meetirjg this evening: lst. That the ladies, ohildren, and citizens generally, be invited to collect all the flowers [both wild and cultivated] that can be obtained, and send or leave them at agricultural room (in basement of the court house) or firemen's hall, fifth ward, before the hour of 10 o'clock, on the 30th inst. 2nd. That the Ladies' Decoration Society be invited to take charge of all floral offerings that may thus be presented, and arrange and deliverthe sameto those designated to decórate the graves of their deceased comradfes. 3d. That the post commander detail [at a meeting of the post, preceeding the 30th inst.] squads, under different commanders, whose duty it shall be to assemble at the places named as depots of supply, as early as 10 a. m., on Decoration day, receive the necessary flowers, then to proceed to the cemetary to which they are directed, and there similarly decórate all known soldiers' graves, the same to have been previously marked by small flags, 4th. That the decoration of the soldiere, monument in the fifth ward tary, be left to the ladies of the decoration society; and that the strewing of flowers by the children thereon be performed, after the arrival of the procession, under their direction. 5th. That Company A, as an organization, the faculties and students of the univereity, the children of the public schools, the common council, and citizens generally be invited to particípate in the proceedings of the day. Cth. That, at the hour of 1 1-2 p. m. the general assemble be sounded and the inembers of the different organizations fall in around the court house square, the head of the line on North Main street, facing Huron street, in order, as follows: Band. Officers of the Day. Chapiain and Orator Company A. Welch Post, No. 137 of Michigan, G. A. R. Professors and Htudents, on foot Citizens, on foot. Children of Public schools, on foot. Children (in charge of L. D. S.) with flowers, in carriages. Common Council, in carriages. Citizens, in carriages. 7th. The line of March t: be soutli on Main street to William street; east on William street to State street; northon State stieet to Huron street; West on Huron street to Fourth street, and north on Fourth street to Detroit street, Broadway and North Pontiac street to fifth ward cemetary. Where, after a few short addresses, the services as laid down in the ritual of the G. A. B. will be performed. 8th. ïhe committee will also recomend that the following gentlemen [with one exceptiou, old soldiere] be the speakers for the occasion: Rev. (Capt.) Ryder, Prof. C. E. Greeue, Capt, Chas, Manly, and Kev. K. B. Pope. 9th. The etticers of the Post to;be the oificers of the batallion; and lOth. That as some funda will be necessary to meet the expenses of the band, etc. of the day. They wiJl propose a subscription committee, with the Post Cornmander as chairman [the remainder of the committee to be appointed by himj to Bo'icit what aid may be deemed necessary to defray the same. llth. That the clergy of the city are earnestly inv.ted to cali the attention of their congregations to tae services of Decoration Day and the need of generOU6 oüering of floral gifts.
