According to the annual report of Judge Harriman for the year ending Oct. 15, 1884, ten persons were committed to the insane asylum from Washtenaw county : Cornelius Gillespie, sixth ward, Ann Arbor, sent Oct. 23, 1888. David L. Perkins, sent from Salem Nov. 14, 1883. Belle Huntington, sent from Ypsilanti, Dec. 7, 1883. John A. Norton, sent at the charge of the county of Wayne, Feb. 27, 1884. John Shettenhelm, sent from the township of Manchester, April 12, 1884 Prescott M. Skinner, sent from the city of Ypsilanti, April 15, 1884. Henry Gardner, sent from Sharon, Jan 17, 1884. Erastus D. Allen, sent from Scio, July 19, 1884. Orville Hawks, sent from Augusta, Sept. 2, 1884. Andrew Frazer, sent from Ann Arbor city, Sept. 26, 1884. Helen Burns, sent from the town of Ypsilanti, Oct. 8, 1884.
