Martin H. Blanchard, Who Died
recently at BloomingdaJe. N. J., at tho aze of S)4 years, left behind him a wonderful progeny. In 1805, when H years old, ho marriea. A year later he was a father. A. year and a half later h8 wife bore him twins, so that he had three children bofore he was 17 years of age. His first wife died ia 18.ri9, having borne him 19 children. His secón wife had 11 more and Blanchard became agraudfather bef ore he was 30. It is estimated that his desoendants now number between 600 and 700. üuring the war he declared that he could mnster a full company of liis own male children andgrand-children.
