Be it ordained by the Mayor, Recorder pnd Aldermen of thelcity of AnnArbor, that section uine of an ordinance relative to the prevention of flree, made and pass'ed in Common Council June 17, 1851, and amended in Common Council October 10, 1871, and again likewise amended Septemer 4, 1882, and section ten of the same ordinance b ■ and the same are hereby aniended so as to read as folio wh: Section 9. - It shall not be lawful for any person hereafter to erect or place any building or part of a building on any lot or part of a lot fronting on Main street between Ann street and Liberty street; nor on any lot or any part of a lot fronting on either side of Huron street between Second street and Fit tb. street; nor on any lot or any part of a lot on Washington street, between Main Street and Fifth street in this city, unless such building or part of a building shall be. constructed of stone or brick, with party or fire walls of the same material, rising at least ten inches above the roof, if the same be covered with metal or slate, and if covered with wood, then at least two feet. Nor shall it be lawf ixl for any person hereafter, without permission of the Common Council, to erect or place any building or part of a building on any lot or part of a lot fronting on .Main street between North street and Arm street; nor ou any lot or part of a lot f ronting on the sanie street between Liberty street and William street; nor on any lot or part of a lot fronting on Fourth street between North street and Liberty street; nor on any lot or part of a lot fronting on the west side of Fifth street between North street and Liberty street : nor on any lot or part of a' lot fronting on the east side of First street between Catharine street and Williams streot; nor on any lot or part of a lot fronting on Second street between Catharine street iiud William street; nor on any lot or part of a lot fronting on Detroit street between Ann street and the Michigan Central rail road; nor on any lot or part of a lot frouting on Catharine street between Second street and Fifth street ; nor on any lot or part of a lot fronting on Ann street between Second street and Fifth street; nor on any lot or part of a lot fronting on Huron street between First street and Second street; nor on any lot or part of a lot fronting on Washington street betweeu First street and Main street; nor on any lot or part of a lot frontiug on Liberty street between First street and Fifth street, unless such building or part of a building shall be constructed of stone or brick, with party or fire walls of the same material, rising at least ten inches above the roof, if the same be covered with metal or slate, and if covered with wood, then at least two f eet. Provided, that nothing contained in this section shall be construed as prohibitmg the erection within the limits mentioned in that clause of this section commencing with the words, " Nor shall it be Tawful for any person hereafter. without the peí mission of the Common Council, etc.," of any building of wood which shall not, be more than eight feet square, nor of any wood house for keeping and storing wood which shall not exceed twenty feet in length, twelve feet in height and twelve feet in width, nor of any barn which shall exceed twenty-four feet in length, sixteen feet in width and twelve feet in height f rom the common surface of the ground to the top of the plates, with roofs not to exceed oneqnarter pitch, but such small building, wood-house or baru, shall not be made to front on any street, nor be less than thirty feet from the line thereof except with the consentof the Council (nor shall more than one such wood-house or barn be allowed without such consent on any one lot or premises occupied as one tenement). No barn, privy, hog-pen, slaughter-house, or any other building which shall be used or occupied for any purpose liable to prove detrimental to the public health, or a nuisance to the adjoiuing occupant or to the public, shail be built fronting on any of the public Ktreets of said city, nor within thirty feet from the line thereof. Section 10.- If any person shall erect any building within the limits speoiöed in section nine of this ordinance, contrary to the provisions thereof, the owner or owners, builder or builders thereof shrtll, on convictiou of such violation, be punished by a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail of WashtenawCounty for a term not exceeding mnety days, in the discretion of the Justice who shall try the oiïender. Such person or persons shallaHo pay a penalty of fifty dollars for each and everyweek such building shall remain so erected after notice from any ineniber of the Common Couucil or tire warden to remove or alter the same. At a session of the probate court for the county of Washtenaw, holden at the probate office in the city of Ann Arbor, on Thursday, the tith day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty-flve. Present, William D. Harriman, Judge of Probate. In the matter of the estáte of Patrick Cowen, deceased. Ira Crippen, administrator with the will annexed, of said estáte, comes into court and represents that is now prepared to render his final account as such adminisirator.
