F. M. Marshall of Stark county Ohio' was the victim=of brutal hazing at Mount Union college in Allianee. He wanted to ioin otie of the secret societies and was led hlindfolded into the hall where there were twenty orthirty studentsof whatisknown as the Delta Gamma fraternity. He was blindfolded, rolled in a barrel, made to stand on a cake of ice uutil he was nnmb, tied in a blanket, and the fraternity's erablem was branded on his back. 'íhe students will be expelled and civil actions are threatened. for pardon in the case of James Milton, now undergoing sentence for a violatiou Of section 54U5, ín retaining an excessive fee for prosecuting a pension case. Bxecutive clemency havo been shown to K. Fortpr Leo, senteuced to 10 years' imprisonment in Búllalo peuitentiary for embezzlement. The sentencu was the most that could be imposed, and at the time was regarded as very severe. Connting liis goud time, he has ser ved half of the sentence.
