Dr. Cole, ashe wascomnionly known, has been a sufferer from Bright's disease for several yoara m 1 and his demise was not entirely unexpected. He had been unable toattend the meetings of the House of which he was a ineniber, exeept once oí twice during the present session. The deceased leaves a wite, but no children. Dr. Wm. H. Cole was born in Baltimore. His father was a protainent Democratie paiJitician who educated his son for the legal profession. In his early manhood he went to Texas, where he was at the breaking out of the late war and joined the confedérate torces from that section. He was prinripully engaged in hospital duty. Af ter tho war he returnod to Texas mid there married Mrs. Florence Franklin, an actress of some celebrity. Soon after his marriage he canie to Baltimore and engaged in journalism, and was for several yeara with the Oazette, now dead. He married a second time and engaged in politics. In 18S2 he was a candidato in his district but was defeated in the nomination for congress at that time, but was elected in 1884.
