A representativa of The Democrat met the chief presa agent of Adam Foreaugh at the Cook house last Saturday. Trom him was gathered many interestngfacta whiuh the Dbmocbat readers i 1 1 no doubt appreciate. In casting a glance over the country ;the different shows which appeal to the ublic in oue fonn or the other for suport, said tho agent. I fail to recognize ne that does not involve a partnership, utside of Adam Forepaugh. Nor do we recognize the same name, so many langes having been made, as that which appeared before the public wcnty-three years ago, except that of ld John Robinson, of Cincinnati. who s an octogenarian, and retired from the msiness. For nearly a quarter of a century the name of Adam Forepaugh ïas become a household word. He has een prominently placed before the American people, each year nis show rowing larger and larger. No complex r intricate partnership relations have ïampered or impeded his progress to lis present exalted position. He now ules independant and alone the sureme magistrate of the spectacular porld. Kight well has he earned the nviable reputation whioh he steadfastly maintains. Ño man shall wrest from iim his professional crown. Having secured control of Madison quare Garden, New York, he was the rst to introduce Buffalo BilPs Wild Vest show in the Metropolis of the Sinpire State. When he realized its efects he hesitated not a moment to dd to it the famous Custer Battle. To roperly illustrate the latter, required in expenditure of sixty thousand dolars. When necessary to increase his bow or enhance lts attractions, Adam "orepaugh spends money as freely as water. Having secured the leading haractenstio features of the Wild West, eserving the exclusive right of the Custer Battle, after thoroughly remodelng the whole, he has combined all these dditional attractions which constitute n fact the only real and original wild west show in America, lt is now under lis exclusive management and control, nd well niay it be said therefore that he now owns "three times the greatest Show on earth." How is it said our reporter that other oncerns are advertising a Wild West ? It is a delusion and a snare," said the agent, "oalculatod to beguile the unwary. An attempt to steal Forepaugh's hunder, and make temporary capital out of a very popular addition to his great how. However beautifully others may advertise, they have not got a genuino and legitima! e Wild, West." " Why," said he agent, "they even claim to have the Juster Battle- the grossest kind of an mposition, sinoe no other show in America has it except Adam Forepaugh. Chey might as well claim to have Foreaugh's Blondín horse, his quadrille elephants, his thirty-horse act, his Virginia Reel on horse back, A. H. Bogardus and Mexis the crack shots of the world, Sitting Buil, Rain-in-the-Faoe, and scores of other rare features, which Mr. Forepaugh has expended a fortune o accumulate. ín fact they might aa well claim the whole Forepangh show." "The show will visit Ann Arbor Friday, Tune 10," said Adam's knight of the quill, 'when the goód citizens of Washtenaw county can judge for themselves as to ts intrinsic and overwhelming attracions."
