The following communicatio n was inemleil for the Register, but for some eason it did not appear. It is dated Mav 17, 1887. Mr. Editor: - I have juut read an tem in your last week's paper statiDg hat Prof. Winchell, has for the past two â– cars been missing valuable fossils out of the museum, andthat hehas recovered about u hundred of them, and that gome tartling developmenta are expected in a 'eif days. if the professor will be kind enough ;o state if said missing fossils, are from what he claims to be his own private collection, or from the private collection, laid to belong to a woman named Paterson, the latter so nioely stowed awa y d the Prof's. room, or the muoh negected general collection, which is uadertood to belong to the state. I shall be glad to aid the distinguished rofe8sor in making eome startling developments to the board of regents at iheir nest meeting, if they, the regents will grant me that mucb wished for priviege.
