In connection with the exereiaes of commencement week, June 26-30, the University of Michigan will celébrate the 5üth anniversary of its organization, Graduatea and former students are cordially invited to be present. THE PROGRAM. Sunday, June 26: An Address by Professor Henry S. Frieze, L L. D., upon "The Reiation of the University to Religión." This address willtake the place of the usual baccalaureate sermón. Monday and Tuesday, June 27 and 28: Class-day exeroises in the various departmenta. Class reunions. The secretaries of the various clauaes thál contémplate a reunión are requested to communicate as soon as posaible with Professor E. L. W alter, chairman of the senate conimittee on entertainment and hospitality. Wednesday, June 29, forenoon : An a'ldress by the Hon. Austin Blair, on behalf of the board of regenta; also an address by Professor J. M. B. Sill, principal of the State normal school, on behalf of the state teachers' association. Wednesday, June 29, afternoon: Addresses before the various societies of alumni as folio ws: Department of literature, soience, and the arts, by the Hon. Thomas W. Palmer, claas of '49, United States senator from Michigan, or by Floyd B. Wilson, class of '71. University hall, 4 p. m. Department of medicine and surgery, by Dr. W. H. Daly, class of '66, one of the vice presidents of the International medical congress, Lower medical lecture room, 3 p. m. Department of law, by the Hon. Samuel F. Miller, justice of the United States supreme court. University hall, 2 p. m. School of pharmacy, by Fred F. Prentice, class of '72, president of the Wisconsin pharmaceutical association. Chemical laboratory, room 20, 3 p. m. Homoepathio medical college, by Dr. John W. Collidpe, class of '79. Homceopathic medical college lecture room, 3 p. m. College of dental surgery, by aome person hereifter to be nameil. Dental college lecture room, 10 a. m. Wednesday, June 29, evening: Grand concert, under auspices of the university musical society. Part I., First part of Mendelssohn's Oratorio of Elijuh, given by the choral unión and a f uil orchestra; Part IL. miscellnneous program by the Orcheatra, Amphion club, and Glee club. Tickets to this entertainment will be sold at fifty cente each. After the concert a reception will be tendered by the " university senate to graduates, former students, and frieudB of the univeraity. Thursday, June 30, forenoon: Exerciaes of the forty-thirü annual commencement. The Commemoration address will given by President Angelí. Addresses from representatives of other uuiversities and colleges will follow. Thursday, June 30, afternoon: Commencement banquet. The banquet will be served immediately after the Commencemeut exercises. Admission will be by tickets, costing one dollar each. These tickets, the number of which will be hmited tq the capacity of the banquet-room, will be olTered for purchase to graduates of tbe university and to persons forinerly oonuected with classes that have graduated. No one will be allo wed to purchase more than one ticket. It would be deemed a favor by the university authorities if, as far as possible, persons who purpose to partake of the banquet would purchase their tickets in advance of commencement day, by remittance to Profesaor W. H. Pettee, chairmau of the senate committee on banquet. Tickets will not be sent out by mail, but will he held subject to the personal requisition of the purchaser. Tickets not called for by 12 o'clock, noon, of commencement day, may be resold, in which case the money of the original purctmser will be refunded. REGISTRAT1ON'. The university desires to secure a complete and accurate regiatratiou of all graduates and former students who may be in attendance upon the semicentennial celebration. Such persons are thereforo urgently requested to cali as early as convenient in commencemeut week at the rooma of senate committee on registration , in university liall. Here they will be provided with appropnate badges and special programmes of the celebration.
