Incense Instead Of Prayer
A minister who is at present sojourning amid the verduro-olad hills of Greenbush, tells the following: Somewliere In the country a mimber oL ministers were wont to meet together on stated daya for purposes pertalnlng to theli calllng. As might be supposcd, each meeting was oponed wlth prayer. But one day tliey met at the house of a brother who had a stock of excellent cigars. whlch he passed around freely. Soon all the brethren were pufling away, and before they knew it tliey had taken up the business of the meeting. Suddenly one of thetn remernbered the forgotten prayer and BUggeated that somebody make up for lost time. Uut one of the brothers was equal to the occasion: "Never mind now, brother X-," he said, "we liave opened tliis meellng by olTering up incensé. J.et that suftice."
