Gibson, the two officials whose books wero exarained by a council investigation committee, have both been exhonerated from all suspiciou of misappropriating the city's funds. We are f,rlad that all suspieion is removed from tlu-se uames and regret that they have had the tnortification of an investig-ation. They stand, however, doubly high in the estlmation of our citizens, now that they have successf ully proved their honesty, as ït is always better for both the men themselves and the public, that if anyone has the aHghtest suspieion of an cfficial's houesty the matter hi investigated and settled.
