London, June 22. - Inquines made at the colonial office today show that the secretary of state for the colonies, Mr. Chamberlain, has received no confirmation of reports from Caracas that a sangulnary conflict has taken place in the territory in dispute between British Guinana and Venezuela, and the rumor is not confirmed there. It 8 further stated that no information has been received from Caracas or from Georgetown which would tend to alter the statement made by the secretary of state for the colonies in the house of commons that it was true that Venezuelans have crossed the boundary and had interfered wlth British officials who were engaged in the work of surveying. But no raention was made of a conflict of a sanguinary nature. Mr. Chamberlain was quesüoned as to whether the Marquis of Salisbury still adheres to nis determinaüon not to submit the British claims to arbitratlon, whereupon the colonial secretary referred his questioner to the Marquis of Salisbury.
