The minuete of Juno lOth, were read and approved. Mr. Mclntyre moved that the Clerk advortise for bids for constructlng gutter on West WillUms Street. Yeas- Prea. Sraith, Mclntyre, Keech jj Xays- None. Mr. Molntyre moved that tho Board reeommend to the Council the establishment of a street and sidewalk gride on Spring and Chapín Stroets. Yeas -Pres. Smith, MoIntyro.Koech -3. Naya- None. Mr. Keech moved that the establishment of a Street and Sidewalk grade be recommended on N. 4th Ave., f rom Beakes to Depot. Yoas- Prea. Smith, Mulntyre, Keech ;{ Nays - None. Mr. Keech moved that the subject of grading the alley frora Washington Street north betweon Main and 4th, Ave., be referredto Mr. Mclntyre, Key and Iíoss. Yeas- Pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech -X Nays - None. Mr. Keech moved that the Street Coramissioner be directed to remove the willow trees in front of 21 Beakes Street. Mr. Keech moved that the President of the Board of Public Worka offer a reward of $25.00 for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who maliciously broke down the trees on Hanover Square, Monday night. yeas_pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech -3. NayB- None. Mr. Mclntyre moved that the Street Commissioner grade S. University Ave. as ordered by the Couneil. Yeas- Pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech Naya - None. Mr. Keech. moved that the engineer make an estímate of the cost of lowering the sewer on Washtenaw Avenue, also prepare plans and proflle. Yeas- Pres. Smith. Mclntyre, Keech -3. Nays- None. Mr. Keech moved that the Board proceed to ballot for an Assistant Euginoer. Yeas- Pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech -3. Nays- None. The ballot resulted as follows: Edwin W. Grores- 3. Whereupon Edwin W. Groves was declared elected to the office of Assistant Engineer. Mr. Keech moved that the question of salary for the Assistant Engineer be leftto Pres Smith and Chairman Koch, of the Sewer Committoe. Yeas - Pres. Smith, Mclntyre. Keoch Naya - None. By Mr. Keech. Resolved, that the Clark Is hereby directed to notify John Sheehan, Mrs. Mary C. Whiting and others interested in tlie Hamilton Park Sewer, that permission will be granted them toconnect with the State Street Sewer, when the following conditions and requirements are complied with. First, That theyfurnish auitable sewer pipe for the entire length of such sewer subject to the inspection of the Board of Public Works. Second, That they lay the same on a grade established by the City EngineerThird, The work to conform to the Plumbing Rules in all respecte and be subject to inspection by the City at any and all times before and after conneciion with the City Sewers. Fourth, That all work be done with out expense to the City, of A nn Arbor. Fifth, That the property covered by or making of euch private sewer shall not be exempted f rom taxation in case a Lateral Sewer District is laid out coverinp such territory. Yeas - Pres. Mr. Keech moved that the subject of the purchase of brick for croBsings be referred to Pres. Smith and Key for test and report. Yeas- Pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech - i. Nays- None. Mr. Keech moved that the Instrucions to Contractors be referred to the City Attorney and Pres. Smith. Yeas - Pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech - o. Nays - None. Mr. Keech moved that the Board recommend to the Council that Arthur J Sweet be awarded the contract for lay ing the tile drain on Prospect-st. Yeas- Pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech -3. Nays - None. Mr. Mclntyre moved that' the Board recommend to the Council that the con tract for building the culverts on Webi Washington street to be let to Koch Brothers. Yeas- Pres. Smith, Mclntyre, Keech 1 - o. Nay&- None. Mr. Keech moved that the subject o tho bonds required for Plumbers ant others privileged to lay house connect ions with the City sewers be referred to the City Attorney. Yeas- Pres.
