The Midway mission of London ha establlahed a leper home in Jerusalem to which Moslems, Jews and Chris tians are alike welcomed. It Is stated that the number of Chris tlans in India today is equal to wha there were in the Roman empire a the close of the flrst Christian century It is said that an English Baptls missionary in India has baptized a Tibetan soldier In the Brltish army named Sobha Sing, and that he is anx ious to go and preach the gospel to hi own people. It would be strange 1 this should prove God's way to reacl the "hermit natlon." The Frenen minister to China has procured an order trom the Taungl Yamen directing local authorities throughout the empire to expunge from the Chinese code all restrictions on the propagation of the Christian religiĆ³n The gospel has made much progres among the Indians of the Canadian Pa eifle coast. They have the scriptures in four languages. There are said to be 12,000 of them, and two-thirds of this number have elther been baptized or are regular attendants on Christian worship. That the missionary spirit is not de caying in the United Presbyterlan church Is evidenced by the announce ments made as to the "Spring Depart ures." During the month of February 11 new misionarles sailod for Man churla, and two more, who have al ready been in tho field, will follow shortly. Four of the 11 (two of them being ladies) have medical degrees.
