The enormous aniount of wood used every year for the purpose of making paper may be estimated trom the facl that the Petit Journal of Paris, whicb has a clrculation of over one mllllon copies a day and is printed on wood pulp paper, consumes u a year, 120,000 fir trees of an average height of sixtyslx feeL Thls is equivalent to the annual thlnnlng of 25,000 acres of forest land.
