A Pioneer Gone

Stephen Mills of Pittsfield township, died at bis residence on the Saline gravel road Tuesday morning, of heart failure. Mr. Mills retired as well as usual the night bef ore. He was born in Dover, X. J., Aug. 11, 1809. He carne to Michigan in 1832, and in 1830 settled upon the farm where he died. He leaves seven sons, all well known in this conimunity. The funeral was attended from his late residence yesterday afternoon. Mr. Mills was for many years one of the leading citizens of his his township. He always tóok an interest in public mattere, and was a life-long republican.
