The freshman Hts met in the chapel Thursday af ternoon, and were called to order by President Angelí, who appointed J. H. Prentiss, president of the athletic association, and Miss Florence Hall, of Chicago, temporary chairman and seeretary respectively. The independents had met in caucus and arranged a ticket, so the fraternities had no show in the election except for toastmaster, wfaich custom concedes to them. Alian B. Cox, of Detroit, was made president; Miss Florence Spence. of Ann Arbor, vice president, and E. Burton Mead, of Urand Rapids, seeretary. The flrst contest aróse over treasurer, and was won by C. Nolan. of lshpeming; J. C. Frank, of Chicago, waselected orator; E. M. Wheeler, of ühio, baseball manager, and Bert Hodgman, of Chicago, track manager. The toast master was not elected. J. D. Kilpatriek, of Montana, of thePhi Kappa l'si fraternity, and R. C. Apted, ofUrand Rapids, of the Psi V fraternity, were the contestante. Two ballots were taken, but both were illegal, the first having one hundred too many votes cast and the second was not announced.
