Victoria, Tex., Nov. 17.- Sunday ntght at 7 o'elock, two miles this side of Clip, a stock pen on the Beeville extensión of the Gulf, Western Texas and Pacific railroad, an engine pul'.ing seventeen cars of stock loaded at Beerclair, destined to St. L,ouis, ran over a steer on the track, ditching the engine and instantly killing Walter Cook, the engineer, breaking the leg of the fireman, Edmund Edmonds, and wrecking the engine and splintering four cars and killing outright about forty cattl?. Mr. Cook leaves a widow and four children.
