Keep The Road Dry
A good road is a dry road, and no wet road ever was or ever can be good. Get rid of the water, and get it clear olï the right of way. Turn it out into the adjoiniug fields and do not let It run long distuuces in the ditohes. Provide for its discharge at every suitable point, and so keep the road clear and prevent the washes that otherwise are sure to follow. Construct these ditches well out at the edges of the right of way, giving all the space possible for public travel. Never leave a piece ol road nntil you are sure that the water will run freely from its surface, for the most important tuaxiin in road construotion is that a sood road must be drv. -
