County School Commissioner

As the time for the Connty Convention draws near, the interest in the nominations t'or School Commissioner increases So far there is only one prominent candidate on either side. On the Republican ticket the man who now appears to have the cali is Trof. V. K Liister of Saline. Prof. Lister has been for sume years one of the Jeading teachers of the eounty, and has before been mentioned s a candidate for ihis office. He is thorousrhly well qualiHed, and has a good acquaintance throughout the eounty. Prof. A. li. eWitt of Dexter, appart-ntly has the lead in democratie circles. Trof. JJeWitt is a thorough teacher, a gradúate of the Normal school, and a gentleman possessing the good will and respect of all who know hiin. ile is a thoroughly practical man. and also known tSrougbout the eounty as an authority on peach culture. Either of the gentlemen named would make the eounty an efficiënt practical offleer, and as it "is likely to go to one or the other, the patrons of the schools are to be congratula! ed on the character of the men seeking the position.
