Fire Is The Death Of Two

Bay CTiy, Mich., Jan. 29. - Two men are dead, three women and four children are suffering from exposure, and the Van Emster block on Columbua avenue in this city is in ashes as a result of a flre at 4 o'clock yesterday morning. The dead are: Mr. Van Emster, aged 56; Theodore During, aged 68. The other victima are Mrs. Van Emster, her mother, her sister and her four children. Van Emster and During were both overeóme by the smoke. The women and children were rescued in their night clothes from the burning building only to suffer in the arctic temperature outside.
