Lansing, Mich., Jan. 29. - Samuel L. Caton, the well-known horseman, who has for the past two years been handling race horses in Russia, was involved in a shooting affray here last night with nis viLe, who has a suit for divorce pending;. He returned from Russia a short time since and has purchased several speedy animáis for shipment to Russia, making his home here at the Hotel Downey. I.ast night Caton visited his former and encountered a man named Scott, a questionable associate of his wife, and the two exchanged shots without apparent effect, althougti Caton claims to have received a wound in his ; forehead. He then kicked in the door te the house, hut he was met by his wife i who knooked him down with a club. Caton retaliated by shooting her i through the cheek, inflicting a flesh wound.
