Struck Against A Reduction

Tonawanda, N. Peb. 3.- Six hundred men quit work on the canal improvement contract here. The work is being carried on by sub-contractors, and the announcement was made of a cut ot' 25 cents a day in wages. The men had been receiving $1.50 per day and declared they would not accept a cut. There has been no disorderly conduct on the part of the strikers.
