Miss Mary Stitton of Munith, visited frieigls here last week. Gus. Barth, who has been in business in Detroit for several months, lias returned home. Several of our young men have gone camping at Cavanaugh lake, to enjoy the excellent flshing. This week our iee men have been very Imsv barvesting their erop. More ice will be put up this yearthan ever before. Frank Ingraham and ('hrist Bagge are canvassing the country with a horse and buggv, in the intereu of a Grand Rapids Bakiag Powder Co. Last Sunday morning, the basement of Henry Kuelï's house caught flre from the ashes of 'he furnace. Neighbors put out the fire before the fire department was notified. Last i riday the high school gave another of their musical entertainnients, undei the direction of Mrs. McKane. These affairs are very pleasant, and should be better attended. L st Monday night. the friends and relatives of Fred and Christ Klein, twin brothers of Lima, surprised them. the occasion being their thirty thinl birthday. The wedding has been po tponed three times, the groom elect losing his nerve at the critieal juncture. .1. S. Day some time ago rented a barn in Kose township, üakland eounty, of D. O. Atwood. Standing cloe to tlit' line, which had been established for áO years, was a large grain barn. A resurvey of the land was made and the line was changed, bringing a barn on the Atwood place on land adjacent owned by Ezra Chamberlain. Chamberlain is alleged to have deeded the land on .which the barn stood and another small piece to Day, who then leased it to Chamberlain for J9 years. Atwood has now had both of the men arrested on the charge of stealing the barn. AVe must for once break over our rule to not indulge in profanity.
