Cooker, of Adrián, has just received an unexpected and pleasant recügnition of themerits of lus book on the goyernment of the United States, whicii is published by Harper Bros, and which has hada flattering reception in this country. The book has been translated into Spanish by Juan Rice Chandler and published by the governmeut press of Guatemala. The translation is accompanied by a long introduction by alero líujal, who was at one time a colleague of Castel lars, and now a member of the Spanish Koyal academy. and one of the most distinguished citizens of Guatemala. - Detroit Journal. Wesleyan uihl. The Wesleyan Guild will at once begin to receive beneñts from the " Ilenry Martin Loud Lectureshi])" recently established. Dr. John l'ottsof Victoria college at Toronto will open the course March 14th, and Bishop Fowler will leetnre April 4th. J)r. Townsend of Washington will also come later. - Courier. Mrs. M. W. D'Ooge, secretary, announces the annual meeting of the Charitable Union will be held at Ilarris Hall, at three o'clock on Thursday afternoon, March 4th.
