From the time the strains of the bag pipe quickened the pulses of the cotehmen at University Hall Friday evening as Alexander Gray opened the Burns' Anniyersary exercises, until the last strains of "Auld Lang Syne" had died away, the large audiencê present thoroughly enjoyed the program prepared. listening with interest and greetmg with applause. The Scotch airs and dances were very entertaining, while Prof. VVenley's characterization of Scotland and the Scotch was especially interesting as coming from one qualifled to speak from both education and experienee. The proceeds of the entertainment will be given to the AVoman's Gymnasium. lïenares. Rev. J. T.
