Washington, March 3. - The senate passed the íortiflcations appropriation blll in thirty minutes Tuesday. Prior to this Quay explained that by a mi3take a number of Pennsylvania postmasters had been erroneously published as having been conflrmed by the senate. The international monetary conference was taken up and led to a heated criticism by Dubois and Cannon. The senate concurred in the house araendments to the international monetary conference blll. Key West, Fla.. March 2.- Gnneral Juli" SanguHly has arrived from Havana by the steamship Mascotte. He was escoïted by Inspector Prat. The voyage was a severe one, the seas being rough and the vessel at one time in imminent danger of capsizing. General Sanguilly partieularly requested that there should be no demonstration at Key West in honor of his arrival. He went sci far as to say that if any were made he might decline to land. Topeka, March 3.- Shortly beforenoon Tuesday a bis scnsation was sprung in the Kansas state legislature when two membera of that body, Senators Tituh, and Jumper, arose and said that they had each been offered $1,000 to support a certain measure concerningr the Kansas City stock yards. The parties were named and one of them, Al Touchie, has been placed under arrest. Flood 3Iakes Tliousamls TdU-, Pittsburg, March 1.- At least 30,000 persons in the Monongahela, Allegheny, and uuper Ohio valleys are out of employment at present, owing to the floods which have prevailed this week. A conservative estímate of ten days before work is resumed vvill make a loss in ages alone of $600,000, to say nothing of the lcss to the property. Illinois Town Klertions. Normal, Hls., March 3.- The biennial town election was held Monday and the following were chosen: For president of the board of thustees, Otto Siebert; for trustees, G. H. Coon, James Hosee-lton, John Norris, A. J. Houchen and D. C. Smithen. F. A. Trumann, Independent, was elected mayor of Dixon, Hls. Case of the Three Fricnds. Washington, March 2.- The United States supreme court has reversed the decisión of the district court of Florida in the Three Friends case, sustaining the contention of the government. The court was also ordered to resume custody of the steamer. Imniigratimi Bill Vetoed. Washington, March 3. - President Cleveland has vetoed the immigration blll.
