Mrs. L. E. Sparks and family will m (ve to Detioit in a short time, where th y expect to keep a lodging house. II. S. Holmes, G. P. Glazier and Chas. Morse have returned home from Washington, where they had attended the inaugnration ceremonies. Miss Mabel Brooks gave a reception at her home to the members of the junior class of the high school last Tuesday niglit. Kach person was asked to contribute something of their own choióe, either in a literavy or musical selection. and the program was very entertaining. The Chelsea Columbian Dramatic Co. will present the play "Erin go Braugh," on Wednesday next, St. Pattick's day, following which, a social hop will be given by the young men of the town. The B. Y. P. U. gave a musical at the Jiaptist church Tuesday. They were assisred by the local talent of the other churches and the program ivas very ple.ising to all who attended. Mrs. M. Wheeler sold all her personal property at auction last Tuesday, on lier farm near here. It was the la'rgest auction ever held here and a considerable siim was realized. The estáte of the late Mrs. Henry Steinbach lias been sold by the heirs. John Palmer has bought" the house now occupied by M. Lowry. and the old homestead in Lima was' purchased by Lewis Myer of t-haron. The Y. P. S. f E. celebrated the flfteenth year of their organization. with exercises at the Congregational church, Sunday night, to which all the churches were iovited. A íine musical program was rendere d and Miss Dora llarrington read the history of the society. Prof. Wright of Olivct College delivered the ad iress. The persons interested in the creamery Bcheme have abahdoned the idea but will start inslead. if possible, a. milk condenser. Their representatives will take a trip to Detroit, Howell and other places, to obtain informatiou from the condeosers there, before anything further is done. The Glazier-Gorman combination was broken at tlie yiUage electiön last Mon day, none of the W'orkingmens' ticket being elected. The Citizens' ticket was elected as follows: Pres.. Wm. Bacon; Clerk, Wm. Arnold; Treas., Geo. Be gole; Trustees. K. S. Armstrong, H. S. Holmes and Godfrey Graw; Assessor 15. Parker. Tnrkish Troops on Greek Frontier. Constantinople, March 10. - It is announced here that 55,000 Turkish troops are now coneentrated on the Greek frontier, and it is understood in Turkish military circles that the Greek forces sent into Thessaly do not exceed 13,000 men of all arms. Ordered to Prepare for Service. London, March 10.- It is stated here that secret orders have been received for the First army corps, including the York and Lancaster regiments, the Essex regiment and the Suffolk regiment, to prepare for service in the Mediterranean if requirprl.
