E., delivered an address on the " Measureraent of the Mackinaw Base" before the Engineering society, on Saturday evening. The University of Illinois ha-; been badly cripplei by the failure of the Globe National Bank of Chicago, with which institution most of the endowment funds were deposited. The Jeft'ersonian Society of tlie Law department met the Litera ry Society Adelpha, last Saturday nigbt, in debate over the question, Resolved, that woman suffrage is not desirable," and won bands down. The Tech Glee and Mandolín Club gave a stag social to the members of the Engineering department, at Nick els' hall, Wedn sday night, which was one of the most successful entertainments of its kind ever given in versity circles. The Good Government Club was addressed last night by Trof. Taylor, his subject being " The Marginal Voter." Messrs. Ames and Berkebile also :uldressed the meeting. The club will endeavor to secure a nummer of prominent speakers to address it next year. .Jurors for May Term of Court.
